The Chrysler Group has announced the first batch of pricing figures for the incredible little 2015 Jeep Renegade and with a price starting at just $17,995, the new B segment Jeep is thousands less expensive than the competition. Those competitors include the Nissan Juke, the Chevrolet Trax and the Buick Encore – all of which have prices that start at least $2,000 higher than the Renegade.

Excluding ultra-low-volume brands such as Maserati, Jeep was America’s fastest-growing auto brand in 2014. Both in terms of percentage growth and units added, no auto brand came within striking difference of the Chrysler Group/FCA SUV brand. Jeep sales jumped 41% to record-high levels of nearly 700,000 units, an improvement of more than 200,000 U.S. sales.

Fiat Chrysler Automobiles CEO Sergio Marchionne has been named Automotive News’ “Industry Leader of the Year” and “CEO of the Year for North America.”

The announcement appears in today’s print edition of Automotive News. AN reporter Larry Vellequette did the write-up, detailing some of Marchionne’s achievements since he took on the nearly defunct Chrysler LLC in 2009.
