Food Bank of WNY in Need of Turkey and Holiday Food Staples

DJ Jickster will live on a Food Bank of WNY trailer for the entire week
as he collects donations of frozen turkeys, nonperishable food items
and funds to benefit the hungry families, children, seniors and veterans
who depend on the Food Bank and its partner agencies. This year,
"Operation: Rock Out Hunger" has set a goal of collecting 3,000 turkeys
for those in need.
For the 1 in 8 individuals at risk
of hunger in the Food Bank's service area, a bountiful holiday meal is
not a given. The Food Bank works tirelessly to ensure our neighbors in
need have enough to eat during the holiday season and throughout the
year - but we need the community's help," said Tara A. Ellis, president
and CEO of the Food Bank of WNY. "We thank DJ Jickster, '97 Rock,' 7
Eyewitness News and Kaleida Health for making 'Operation: Rock Out
Hunger' possible, and we encourage the Western New York community to
come out and support this drive to benefit our less fortunate neighbors.
In addition to the collection at "Operation: Rock Out Hunger," donations of food and funds can be dropped off at the Food Bank at 91 Holt St., Buffalo, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays. Donations also can be made online at www.foodbankwny.org.

Food Bank of WNY is the primary hunger-relief organization in Western
New York, obtaining and distributing food to 317 member agencies,
including food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters, group homes and youth
programs in Cattaraugus, Chautauqua, Erie and Niagara counties. Through

individuals in any given month, including 45,300 households, 54,500
